Exhibition about the Šiluva Chapel in the Basilica's Memorial Hall presents the history of how it came to be established. It addresses the chapel's artwork, which entails a summary of Lithuanian history and an introduction to its religious and relevant folk-art traditions.

Mass of Thanksgiving -- 2 p.m.
Culminating event of the 50th anniversary. Great Upper Church. Principal celebrant and homilist: Most Rev. Joseph Kurtz. Featuring choirs from Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia, and Toronto. No tickets or reservations required.
Reception -- 3:30 p.m.
Immediately following the Mass, at the Pryzbyla Center, Catholic University. Tickets $25 per person (children 14 and under free). Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Online ticket purchases are highlly encouraged. Buy your tickets here

For those coming to Washington for the Šiluva Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving on October 9, a block of rooms is available in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Lithuanian American Community, Inc (LAC) that will also take place over Columbus Day weekend. The discounted rooms are available from Thursday, October 6, through Tuesday, October 11, at the Sheraton Silver Spring, in Silver Spring, MD, for $139 per night (plus tax) -- single/double/triple/quad.
The cutoff date for reservations is September 11. After that, reservations can be made on a room availability basis. Click here to reserve a room.
